TLDR Review: Sony A75L 65" OLED TV
Verdict
The Sony OLED 65 inch BRAVIA XR A75L is a fantastic choice if you want stunning 4K HDR picture quality with smart gaming features tailored for the PlayStation 5 and a polished Google TV experience. If you're a cinephile or gamer mainly watching in controlled lighting, this TV will truly shine. However, consider the potential app glitches and the short warranty coverage, which could lead to costly repairs. If you prioritize peak gaming responsiveness or brighter room viewing, looking into LG OLED alternatives might be wise, as they sometimes edge out Sony in gaming-specific performance and brightness. Overall, this Sony model stands as a compelling option for a premium OLED smart TV experience with excellent all-around credentials.

- •Gaming features optimized specifically for PlayStation 5, including VRR to reduce lag, judder, and screen tearing.
- •Smooth, user-friendly Google TV interface with responsive voice control via remote, making app navigation and commands straightforward.
- •High-quality built-in sound system that creates a virtual surround experience comparable to multiple speakers, enhancing movie and gaming audio.

Cons
- •Limited built-in sound system: the two-channel speakers may not satisfy users who rely solely on the TV’s audio without an external sound system.
- •The TV stand is fixed and not adjustable, reducing flexibility for different viewing setups.
- •Brightness, while good for an OLED, could be better in very brightly lit rooms, which might affect daytime viewing.
- •Some users report freezing and recurring issues with streaming apps that are not resolved through recommended updates.
- •The absence of a built-in microphone means voice commands must be done through the remote, which may be cumbersome for some.
- •Reliability concerns with reports of the TV failing after about 1.5 years, and Sony’s one-year warranty leaves repair costs entirely out of pocket.
- •Repair and diagnostic fees are reported to be expensive, with customer service support reportedly unhelpful in some cases.
- •The channel guide and Google integration take some time to get accustomed to and may feel less intuitive to users used to other platforms.
